Curbside Waste Management Program

The Curbside Waste Management Program for residents in the Town of Petawawa, the City of Pembroke and the Township of Laurentian Valley includes the following:

Paper Recycling - Blue Box
Container Recycling - Triple R Can
Organics Program - Green Cart

Collection Schedules are available at your Municipal Office, online, or by contacting 613-735-7537.  Your Collection Schedule will note your collection day, items to be collected, Hazardous or Special Waste Days, Bulky Item Collection (furniture, appliances, scrap metal), Leaf & Yard Waste Pick-Ups and Christmas Tree Disposal.

Recyclables should be placed loose in the Blue Box, Triple R Can or other reusable containers.   All material must be set out for collection by 5:00 am. Material must be placed 5 feet from the curb, in your driveway. Containers cannot exceed 23 kg (50lbs).

Hazardous or Special Waste is not collected at curbside.  HSW consists of paints, oils, oil filters, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, propane cylinders, used needles (properly packaged), pesticides & herbicides, mercury thermometers & switches.  HSW can be brought to the OVWRC year round during regular operating hours or check for Mobile HSW Events during the Spring, Summer and Fall.

Your Triple R Can and Green Cart are registered to your property and must remain at that address. Additional or replacement containers may be purchased and are available at your Municipal Office. You may also purchase Blue Boxes at these offices.

Ever wonder what to do with old clothing?

Consider donating usable clothing to a charity. Usable clothing can also be placed in a clear plastic bag and be put out for collection on your paper collection days.  Unusable clothing is regular garbage.

Please contact the OVWRC HOTLINE at 613-735-7537 or your local Municipal Office if you have any questions or require further information.
