Our Centre
The
Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre (OVWRC) is a state
of the art waste management facility located in the
Township of Laurentian Valley, about 15 km south of
Pembroke, Ontario. The OVWRC began operation in January
2002 and is a partnership between the Town of Petawawa,
City of Pembroke, Township of Laurentian Valley, Township
of North Algona Wilberforce, and Sebastopol Ward of
Bonnechere Valley, all located within Renfrew County.

Our Centre includes a Material Recovery
Facility, a Centralized Composting Facility, an Outdoor
Composting Area, a Construction and Demolition Waste
Recycling area, a permanent Household Hazardous Waste
Depot, a waste oil transfer station and a Landfill.
The Centre serves a population of
40,000 and will greatly reduce the amount of waste going
to Landfill. The Centre’s goal is to reach a diversion
rate of 65%.
